Danny Boyle has given an update on the long-planned sequel to Trainspotting, saying that it will happen once its four lead actors can co-ordinate their schedules.

In March 2013, Boyle revealed that he was aiming to have Trainspotting 2 (Porno), Welsh's own sequel to Trainspotting, and confirmed that original Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge was working on the script.

Since then, little has been heard about the sequel, though Ewan McGregor said in June that he "would be up for" starring in it.

Now Boyle has confirmed that making the sequel happen is simply a matter of timing: “All the four main actors want to come back and do it,” the director told Deadline’s Pete Hammond, who caught up with Boyle at the Telluride after-party for the “work-in-progress” screening of Steve Jobs with Michael Fassbinder in the title role. “Now it is only a matter of getting all their schedules together which is complicated by two of them doing American TV series,” Boyle says.

In other news, first trailer for 'Kill Your Friends' unveiled.
