KUL BRITANIA WHY DONT YOU START BY TELLING US AND OUR FOLLOWERS A BIT ABOUT YOU PETER? WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND BRED?
PETER: Hi! I was born and bred in Huddersfield, Which is in Yorkshire in the north of England. Its in between Manchester and Leeds!
KB: WHEN DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A GRAPHIC DESIGNER?
P: I think I decided at about 14. THis is me 'deciding'. And by deciding I mean coming to a realisation that this is the direction I want to go in. It would take another 10 years unitl I was actually doing it professionally!
KB: WE'VE SEEN YOUR WORK WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM? DID MUSIC HAVE A MAJOR INFLUENCE ON YOUR WORK? WHO DID YOU GROW UP LISTENING TO?
P: Yeh music definitely influences my work a lot! I actually started by doing gig posters for local bars. It was a great way of getting my work out there! I also always loved looking at record sleeves and CD inlays when I bought music growing up. It's always something I aspired to do. Growing up I listened to lots of music. I go through waves. I've been through BRITPOP, SKA, and REGGAE, american hardcore, thrash metal, hip hop, the list goes on. But something that will always stick with me is music from the 60's, I grew up watching old programme re-runs of ready steady go! and sounds of the 60's. I find drawings from when I was a kid of THE KINKS! I was about 7 when I drew them and that was in the early 90s so defo a huge influence.
