Tickets for The Stone Roses gigs at the Etihad next summer sold out within minutes last November.
The question is whether there will be a new album/new songs or will we see the band just revisit their classic material as they did during their reunion tour back in 2012?
We were with Ian Brown during his visit to Carlos Ruiz's store back in October and talked quite a lot with him but the answer to that question is still unkown and unpredictable. Noone thought the band would make a comeback in 2012 and a new album release seems to be the best kept secret. Shane Meadows revealed once that while shooting 'Made of Stone' he'd heard some new tunes being played. There were rumours last year the band would release a new album in 2015 but it never materialised. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens this year before their massive gigs in Manchester.
But apart from speculating on new tunes, what we'd like to know is who will be joining the Roses before their shows at the Etihad.
At Heaton Park back in 2012, those support bands included bands such as Primal Scream, The Vaccines, Plan B, The Wailers and former Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye.
When they played Finsbury Park, PiL, Rudimental, Dizzee Rascal, Johnny Marr and Miles Kane were the support acts. So who will be this time? Could we see the likes of Noel Gallagher, The Charlatans or Liam Fray's band the wonderful Courteeners at their shows?
Speaking of Liam Fray, it is true that Fray together with Tim Burgess were the first to tweet the news of these concerts. They were probably contacted to support the Stone Roses ahead of the band's shows.
Anyway, just as in 2012 we know it is all about the Stone Roses and seeing them live again but who would YOU like to be the support acts NG, Ride, Inspiral Carpets, Happy Mondays, The View, The Enemy, anybody else? Let us know below.
