They may only be days away from finally dropping their long-awaited third album, but The Libertines are already thinking about record No.4.

It's been almost a decade since the release of their last album - but it looks like fans won't have to wait quite so long for more new music. Powell revealed to gigwise on even more new music "We have actually spoken in length about the possibilities of moving forwards" and added  "We spoke it in Thailand. I remember Pete said 'I'd love to do another album'."

He continued: "Pete's got bits of material floating around that he would love to delve into. Because we're better individuals now, within the same main frame, John's got stuff he wants to do, Carl's got stuff he wants to do, I've got stuff we want to do and at some stage we do want to start compiling all of that stuff."

Bassist John Hassall joked: "We're going to do a triple album on the next album. Our album's coming out next week, so in a way we're kind of focussed on that and excited about that and taking it and growing as a band into that album. We're not thinking that far ahead right now. Well, I'm not personally."
