Record Store Day organizers are looking to expand from a bi-annual event into a weekly one, giving music lovers the chance to grab exclusive music each Tuesday ... Yes each Tuesday.
Although steeped into controversy amongst the music industry, the success of RSD is undeniable. Vinyl is experiencing a rather healthy revival, with sales from record store day in 2014 exceeding those of the year before by 50%. Now the organisers of the events have come up with an idea to continue meeting the increased demand, by creating Vinyl Tuesdays.
New and exclusive music will be available for music fans to buy every Tuesday from their local independent record stores, in a number of ways. Reps say there will be a variety up for offer; “catalog releases, commercial and promotional releases, releases made specifically for the Record Store Day indie community, vinyl editions of albums that were previously released on CD and digitally, and exclusive vinyl releases that drop before their digital editions.”
