Noel Gallagher on being solo.
In an interview with premierguitar, Noel Gallagher talked about his solo stuff and working with his friend, Johnny Marr.
When asked about expressing some misgivings about being a solo artist, former Oasis said: "Did I express that? Well, it might have been a few years ago, and I’m over it. If you’ve got good songs, and if you’ve made good records, then nothing else matters. A wise man said, “As long as your shit is good, you don’t matter.” I don’t think people are coming to see me—there’s not much to see here. They’re coming to hear my songs." and added on what makes his shit good "I don’t know what makes my shit good —I find it very difficult to describe. But there must be something there ’cause there’s lots of girls who love my songs.
Finally when talking about working with Manc legend, Johnny Marr, Noel said: "It was great—he’s a genius. He didn’t do any preparatory work before he came to the studio, didn’t want to hear the backing track in advance, or even anything about the song at all. He just came in and without any direction played immediately the right thing—what you hear on the record, beautiful stuff that I myself couldn’t have pulled off."
