Oasis star Gallagher has claimed Wilshere will never be world-class unless he stops misbehaving.
The England ace has been caught allegedly smoking on two occasions. The most recent incident occurred in February when the 23-year-old was sidelined by injury. And Manchester City fan Gallagher has drawn comparisons with Three Lions legend Paul Gascoigne.
He told talkSPORT: “You think of the great midfielders in the game now, like [David] Silva and the Barcelona players – they’re athletes. "They don’t smoke and drink. “This lad has been caught twice. That’s what sets him apart and what links him to Gazza. “That catches up with you in the end. If you are smoking and drinking you are not an athlete. “The great players in the league dedicate themselves to be the best, and smoking and drinking isn’t going to cut it."
Wilshere has bounced back from his injury woes and bagged two sensational goals for England against Slovenia last month.
Man City had been linked with a move for the midfielder. He has played 100 games for the Gunners, scoring six goals.
