Demo recordings from Morrissey’s 2009 album “Years Of Refusal” were posted today on the singer’s website True To You.
Moz’s website states that the three previously unheard demos date back to 2008 and are part of the sessions for his ninth solo album.
The three tracks are the “initial run-thoughts” for the songs “Something Is Squeezing My Skull”, “One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell” and “Mama Lay Softly On The Riverbed”, all of which were re-recorded and made the album tracklist afterwards.
“Years Of Refusal” was released on February 2009 and peaked 3rd on the UK album charts. This was Morrissey’s first record since 1992’s “Your Arsenal” not to have Alain Whyte on guitar (who was replaced by Jesse Tobias ever since). This album also marked the beginning of a 5-year-record hiatus until the release of “World Peace Is None of Your Business” in 2014.
