Morrissey signs new management deal

Things look like they might be brightening up for Morrissey. It seems that the former Smiths frontman has signed a new management deal that could, in turn, lead to the release of his first new material since 2014.

The Mirror reports that Morrissey has inked an agreement with what appears to be an unlikely source. The 57-year-old singer has linked up with Peter Katsis, a partner at Deckstar Management, who has previously worked with One Direction, Backstreet Boys and Enrique Iglesias.

However, given that the management company’s current roster includes Air, Blink-182 and Jane’s Addiction among many others, Morrissey is finding himself in good company.

A source told the tabloid: “Morrissey is being looked after by Peter, who’s been spending a lot of time with him in LA. He’s one of the best in the business and has worked with everyone from One Direction to Snoop Dogg and is managing The Smashing Pumpkins and Culture Club.

“Peter is really excited about Morrissey’s new music and getting him back in the studio. He’s focused and in good health.”
