Turner and Kane collaborated on Last Shadow Puppets, but why was that the extent of it?

Miles Kane has given a fairly blunt explanation for why he never joined the Sheffield band: "I hadn't been a frontman. I had a hard-on for that."

In a new interview with Q, the pair were asked whether Kane ever came close to joining Arctic Monkeys in their early days. "Well...no," answered Turner. "I think because that was when he just started The Rascals.
That was just all happening as well."

Kane, meanwhile, said: "I really wanted to be a frontman at that time. I hadn't been a frontman. I had a hard-on for that. We're fortunate that we are best mates and that we can even do this again and that’s enough, I guess. I don’t want to say in an ideal world we would be in a [full-time] band [together] because we both love what we do aside from this".

In other news, the band announced a series of tour dates.
