Inspiral Carpets drummer and founding member, Craig Gill, has sadly passed away, aged 44.

In 2005, Craig Gill set up his very successful Manchester Music Tours business, which attracted visitors from all over the world. Craig pieced together walking and bus tours, scheduled and private, band specific and bespoke tours to suite all musical tastes including;  The Smiths, Joy Division, Oasis, The Stone Roses and Factory Records, other bands featured on the tours are The Hollies, The Bee Gees, New Order, James, Elbow and The Courteeners.

The band, Inspiral Carpets, have taken to Twitter to announce the tragic news today (22 November), writing: "It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our drummer and close friend, Craig Gill.

"We are all absolutely devastated by the news." They added: "To say we'll miss him is an understatement".

Liam Gallagher took to Twitter to pay tribute to Craig Gill.
