KENDAL CALLING 2017 | Saturday | Exclusive Photos
Powered by AB Project

After hitting the Glow Tent till the wee hours following the Stereophonics incredible set on Friday night, Saturday morning was always going to arrive with a thud. After bumping into Tim Burgess on the Friday a cup of his fine coffee from Tim Peaks was high on my agenda for today and the terrific cappuccino from his Tim Peaks Diner along with Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 opening the Main Stage at mid-day ensured any cob-webs were well and truly blown away. As always the Yellow Movement’s finest were in fine form and got the party underway with their songs ‘International Sex Hero’, ‘Dance Off’ and ‘Cross The Road’. If you’re looking for a good time, there is no better act to open a festival stage (notably fellow Yellow Movement band, Jamie And Shoony got the crowd going tonto at the Woodlands stage).

Saturday’s Into The Wild fancy dress theme ensured it was a busy day for photographs with penguins, bees, a crow and a giant spider all spotted whilst Bazza managed to get shots of a number of different acts across the Main Stage, Woodlands Stage, Carvetti Stage and Chai Wallah including Reverend & The Makers, Feeder, Editors, Brian Wilson, Jamie and Shoony, Declan Welsh & The Decadent West, Thabo and Merigot Boost Sound before finally catching a bit of Welsh rockers the Manic Street Preachers closing the Main Stage.

Kendal Calling is always one of the highlights of the summer and once again it did not disappoint with a terrific atmosphere and many memorable performances across the two days. See you in the fields next year!
