In an interview with La Tercera, Johnny Marr talked ahead of his South AMerican tour which will see Marr play in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Brasil. Marr discussed his solo work and his collaboration with former Oasis and friend Noel Gallagher.
Talking about his shows, Marr said: "It's great to see what's happening in South America with my solo stuff. I think in America my followers tend to be a bit older and it's funny to see that there's a lot of young who go to my shows there. People who had not even been born when I was playing in the Smiths. There's a lot of women too. And also people in their 30s who usually stop going to concerts but I still see them there."
Then when asked about his collaboration with former Oasis, Noel Gallagher, Marr said: "I love what Noel does. His new solo work. I've seen Oasis many times, I've played with them but personally, I don't need to see them reform. Noel's doing great. He has a successful solo career and he doesn't need to look back and reunite his former band." and added on a Smiths reunion "Well, no one wants to go back to what happened 30 years ago. I mean I love those bands (Smiths, Oasis) and they mean so much to so many people."
Johnny Marr will play Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Brasil as part of his South American tour. Buy TICKETS.
