Powered by AB Project

In an interview with France 24, Marr talked about being a frontman and said:

"I've learnt from the best really ... Chrissie Hynde in the Pretenders, Matt Johnson in The The and Morrissey in The Smiths but it was somehting I used to do before I formed The Smiths
but back then I wanted to be an expert at being a guitar player." Then Marr was asked whether his new album 'Call the Comet' was a political album. 'I don't want the politicians to be in my songs. I don't want them to be in my audience's head when they listen to the record. So I manage to sing about society; a society in my imagination. I don´t want these people to contaminate my songs. Maybe in the future I will write more political songs."
