Barat on Noel Gallagher.

Carl Barat has said he wants Noel Gallagher to produce the next Libertines' album, stating, "I'd love to work with him".

In an interview with NME, Barât explains why he wants former Oasis to work on the record - which he says will probably be recorded in April. "I'm going to email Noel Gallagher. I know he's really busy, but hopefully he's got a bit of time for the Libertines who love him so," he says.

Barât says that Gallagher has already expressed an interest in taking on the role, adding: "Noel's Noel, isn't he? I'd love to work with him. He's hilarious, but he has such clarity of vision as well. That's something the Libertines could certainly use."

In other news, Pete Doherty has shared his Amy Winehouse tribute single 'Flags Of The Old Regime'.The track was written by The Libertines frontman for the late Winehouse, with all proceeds of the single going towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The track will be officially released on March 9.
