Moz refuses NME apology

moztshirt
Morrissey has refused an out of court apology from the NME ahead of High Court hearing of Morrissey against the NME and its former editor Conor McNicholas. According to his website, ‘the NME recently offered to apologize to Morrissey by offering space on nme.com, butnot within the printed magazine. This offer was rejected as disproportionate to the damage done to Morrissey by the NME magazine itself.
In October last year, Morrissey won the right to take the case to the High Court. The court hearing will be on the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th July at the High Court in London, and though these dates clash with European concerts Morrissey has vowed to honour his touring commitments and fly between London and Europe for the trial. Just over a week after the court hearing, Morrissey plays the MEN Arena in Manchester. Morrissey has also welcomed the support of his famously devoted fans to position themselves outside of the High Court over the course of these dates.

Is Mani from The Stone Roses the new Nostradamus?

manimoun
This is what his wife Imelda has suggested on the social network Twitter saying that The Stone Roses are to blame for Citys league title.
Flair, grit and determination - not to mention a nine-figure outlay on players - have all been cited in recent days as the reasons why Manchester City won the Premier League over the weekend.
However, fans of the club actually have one man to thank for their first title win in 44 years - and it's apparently not manager Roberto Mancini.
Nope, ironically it's staunch Manchester United fan Mani - who infamously said The Stone Roses wouldn't reform until the Blues tasted major success. Reminding fans of his prediction ahead of the band's huge reunion shows next month, the bassist's wife Imelda Mounfield described her husband as a modern day Nostradamus, tweeting:
City's win is all down to Mani , he predicted yrs ago the stone roses would play again after city won the league !!!! Nostradamus or what

Alex Turner:"I originally started writing lyrics to make my friends crack a smile"

arcticsquilmes8
Last year I was trying to come to terms with the idea that I'm a songwriter. I've gotten into country music, which I never really had a connection with or understood before.
But someone like Townes Van Zandt is amazing-- that's what music's all about, when you hear something and you don't really have a choice but to think, "Oh fuck, all right, I'm going there then."
That's what I got with his records.
Also, I read this story about Iggy Pop where he said there was a TV show he used to watch when he was young, and the guy would ask kids to write letters into the show,
and the letters had to be less than 25 words-- and he applied that to writing "No Fun".
So, since we always do songs with a thousand words, we thought we should try one that had less than 30,
which turned out to be "Brick by Brick". But I got the drummer to sing it because it seemed like the right thing to do.
That song introduced us to a new side of ourselves. Even though it is dumbed down, we know it, and it's got a sense of humor;
it says "I wanna rock'n'roll" like three times, which is hilarious. There have always been jokes all over our songs; I originally started writing lyrics to make my friends crack a smile
, which is difficult. "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" is like one big fucking gag. I know my lyrics might be weird to some,
but they're not like that to me because I know where they come from-- I know the secret.

McGee plans music industry return to "cause chaos"

mcgeeliam

Alan McGee has said that he is considering a return to the music industry after an offer from Japanese investors.
“I am going to meet some people in Japan who want to bring me back into music,” writes McGee. “If I'm honest, I am torn on this but at the same I feel it's almost a public duty to cause chaos in the world of Simon Cowell and co.
“The upside also is whilst there in Japan, I will see Noel (Gallagher) play the Budokan and Primal Scream play to 40,000 people at a festival. Plus, they say I can sign who I want and they seem to have the cash so in my book it's worth a little look at least.”

Noel Gallagher: 'I cried like a baby when Man City won the Premier League'

noel8
has opened up about his reaction to his beloved Manchester City winning the Premier League title yesterday (May 13), revealing he "cried like a baby".
The club won the title with two last-gasp goals in a 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers and pipped their great rivals Manchester United to the prize. Gallagher, whose brother Liam was at the game, revealed he saw it all happen from a bar in Santiago, Chile.
Speaking to the BBC, Gallagher described his feelings when his team went from being 1-0 up to 2-1 down, a scoreline which held right up until the dying minutes.
He said: "We arrived in Santiago and a friend of ours opened his bar early so we could watch it. It started off tense, then it went from tense into elation and then back to tension. It seemed like QPR were in the lead for a lifetime and it was very dark."
He then spoke about his elation when City striker Edin Dzeko equalised, adding: "Right before we scored, I thought 'We need it now, if we're going to do it, we need to do it now'. And then when Dzeko scored, I don't know what happened after that, there was a lot of swearing."
Then asked how he reacted when Sergio Aguero won the game and title for his team, Gallagher said: "My mate tried to pull the TV off the wall. I swore a lot and then I cried like a baby because I've never seen anything like that before. It was mindblowing."
